Welcome to Merthyr Tydfil Sailing Club
Merthyr Tydfil Sailing Club offers sailing from March to Boxing Day with the opportunity for gentle cruising, handicap racing, training and social events. We sail mostly on the weekends; Saturdays from 11 until about 4 pm from around Easter until late September. Sundays throughout the season from around 11 until about 5 pm starting in late March with the last Sunday just before Christmas. We also sail on Wednesday evenings in the Summer (when the sun sets after 8 pm or so, April to end of August). This is organised more informally amongst members who can get to the club in time. On the other days people are rostered to help out at the club depending upon skill levels.
Membership
Merthyr Tydfil Sailing Club offers opportunities to members to enjoy this great sport in our beautiful location. Membership of the Club is currently open and the Club is committed to training and developing the sailing skills and related knowledge of young people. We have several club boats that can be used by members once they have received basic training or if you already have RYA level 2 or above. Our membership year is the calendar year, a small discount is available for people renewing before the end of January.
We use WebCollect to act as our membership database and you should ensure that emails from the WebCollect.org.uk domain and from mtsc.org.uk are permitted through your email spam/junk filter when signing up. Tip: It is way easier to fill out the large membership form on a PC or tablet than a phone. Sorry. After completing your forms, you will receive an email acknowledging your request to join. Then, when approved, you will receive another email containing our bank details and a payment reference to use when completing the payment by BACS. Watch out for these emails and mark webcollect.org.uk as a trusted email source.
