RYA Powerboat level 1 and 2
The RYA powerboat level one and two is a 2 day course covering the essentials of power boating. Including the use and handling of tiller and steering wheel RIBs. For those with no experience or those wishing to gain a qualifications.
The course covers a number of aspects including:
- Launching and recovery
- boat handling
- securing to a buoy
- anchoring
- leaving and coming alongside
- man overboard
- coastal aspects
ICC:
To gain a ICC from the RYA, you need to apply using the PB2 photo licence gained upon successful completion of this course. (the RYA may charge for supplying ICC)
What we provide:
- RYA start power boating book. (and certificate where applicable)
- Buoyancy aid.
What you need to provide:
- Suitable shoes (eg wellies)
- Towel.
- Full waterproofs and weather specific clothing, eg hats / gloves
- Lunch
- £1 for lockers (returnable)
- Passport sized photo
Notes:
- Pre-course information will be sent out approximately 7 days before the course start date.
- You do not need to be a member of the sailing club to take part in an RYA course.
- A minimum number of students may apply to each course.
