Double Handed Junior Training: Saturday Afternoons
Saturday Afternoons: 13:00 - 15:00
*New for 2026!*
Join us for Double Handed Junior squad training on Saturday afternoons. The training is suitable for those who have completed their RYA Stage 3, or those who have completed their Stage 4 and would like to further advance their skills.
If you are unsure if these sessions are suitable for your sailor, please contact the club's Chief Instructor who will be happy to discuss this with you: chiefinstructor@nbyc.co.uk.
Training will be conducted in the club's RS Fevas - with use of a club Feva available as a option to book below. Should you wish to bring your own double hander, you are welcome to do so. You do not need to sign up with a partner, so may sail with people you haven't sailed with before! If we have an odd number of participants, we will endeavour to ensure all sailors get equal time on the water.
Sessions will be majority run on the water, with activities tailored to the abilities of the group. We will cover topics including double handed boat handling, double handed racing, seamanship skills, sailing with spinnakers. If the weather is not favourable for on the water training we will, where possible, offer land based tuition or transfer your booking to another date.
Please meet your instructors at the Cadet Shed by the Norfolk Dyke at 13:00, rigged and ready to sail! The session will finish at 15:00. Our instructors will aim to maximise time on the water, so please be aware that your sailor may need your assistance to derig their boat after the session has finished.
Bookings for each Saturday close the Thursday night before the session, to allow our instructors time to plan their activities. If your chosen date is full, please add yourself to the waiting list using the 'Waiting List' option below. You will then be contacted in order of booking should spaces become available.
