Seeds, Roots and Hedgerow Fruits
Learn to identify edible and non-edible berries from the hedgerow. Taste fruit sauces on homemade seed crackers, discuss the popularity of seeds, debate about seed oils and realise the value of health tonics made from roots like dandelion or burdock.
At this autumnal workshop we will discover the nature’s produce: safe berries to pick from the hedgerows and how to use them. Come and learn how to turn them into preparations to boost your health. On this course you will be guided through ideas for making mineral rich tonics, medicinal root beers, hot fruit and herb drinks as well as talking about their meanings of feeling being rooted and the power of seeds. We will explore their explosive popularity and fame of being a powerhouse: chia, quinoa, flax. We will debate over seed oils and their history. We will finish with fermented roots, Burdock and Dandelion drinks and even a few drops of mixed root bitters.
