River Wye Weekend - 03 - 05 October
This trip features 2 days paddling down the River Wye, with self-catered camping at Bycross Farm (3rd-5th October).
The site is getting ready to close for the season, so will be quieter and some facilities closed. We'll need to be catering for ourselves (or finding a local pub), but we will aim to get a fire-pit and fire-circle going. There will be toilets and hot showers on site.
We'll all arrive on Friday night and set up camp. Early Saturday we'll gather and shuttle boats and people up the river (probably to Hay-on-Wye) and paddle back down to the site. On Sunday we'll shuttle some cars down river (Hereford or further depending on the group and flow) and paddle down to them, returning to pack up and say our farewells.
This is a family friendly trip so expect there to be break stops, and fun. We may run different distance trips on the Saturday if there is a definite split between 'play' and 'paddle' groups.
As well as your usual paddling equipment (including a PFD and helmet), you'll need to be catering for yourself for all your meals, as well as bringing suitable camping gear for early October.
Well behaved canoe-happy dogs are welcome. There is a £2 per dog per night charge for dogs, payable direct to the campsite

- There could be additional charges for parking or river access depending on where we get on and off.
- There is a likely need to use most vehicles for shuttling
- The camp site is in an orchard with low hanging branches. High sided vehicles are not excluded but care will be needed. There is separate parking that can be used
