OCA Bushcraft weekend - 19 - 21 Sept
Where: Runways End Outdoor Centre, Aldershot, North Hampshire
When: Friday 19th to Sunday 21st September 2025
Canoeing and bushcraft have been inseparable throughout history. From indigenous peoples navigating their ancestral wilderness to frontiersmen exploring the Canadian wilds, travelers have long relied on these skills to journey through untamed landscapes and live off the land, creating legendary tales of survival and adventure.
Join us for a weekend at Runways End Outdoor Centre in Aldershot, North Hampshire, from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st September 2025. This weekend is perfect for novice canoeists and bushcraft enthusiasts, as well as experienced paddlers looking to expand their outdoor skills.
Saturday morning begins with camp cooked breakfast. Throughout the day we will explore different elements of bushcraft including knives and tools, fire lighting, shelter building and cooking on open fires.
Saturday evening features a tapas-style cookout where you can practice different recipes over open fires. We'll provide options to accommodate various dietary requirements, followed by a relaxing evening around the campfire.
Sunday takes us onto the water with a leisurely canoe trip along the Basingstoke Canal, likely including a stop for a traditional pub lunch; after all, this is an Open Canoe Association trip!
Canoes are available to borrow if you'd like to fit more people in your cars (please let us know in advance if you'd like to use one of our canoes)."
Included in the price is:
- Camping for Friday and Saturday nights
- Saturday: breakfast and dinner
- Sunday: breakfast
Lunches are not included but there are fridges available on site and supermarkets nearby.
If you do not have your own tent please let us know so we can bring extras.
