OCA River Severn Weekend - 10 - 12 July
STAYING – Buckley Farm Campsite, Melverley Road, Shrewsbury SY4 1BU
This weekend’s OCA flat-water/family friendly paddling weekend will be on the River Severn, starting at the source of the river – Pool Quay. We have a few paddling options of various lengths which will be decided on the day.
We will be camping at Buckley Farm campsite on the banks of the river on Friday and Saturday nights. Buckley Farm campsite is rural campsite with never ending views and pure tranquility plus great access to the River Severn. They have showers, toilets, and washing up facilities and water point.
The paddles will be sightly moving water or flat-water, so this weekend is suitable for all our paddlers. Families with children are welcome.
GRADING: Grade 1 low water.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The river when low is a very good start river for beginners, A very quiet and placid stretch of river, not without wildlife interest - especially herons and buzzards.
