"THE DESCENDANTS"



On Thursday 16th April at 7.30pm, we will be showing The Descendants (2011), a poignant comedy-drama starring George Clooney as Matt King, a Hawaiian lawyer and land baron.

The story follows Matt as he navigates a family crisis: his wife is in a coma following a boating accident, leaving him to reconnect with his two daughters while discovering a painful secret about his marriage. Simultaneously, he faces immense pressure to sell a massive tract of ancestral land owned by his family.

The film was a major critical success, winning the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and earning Clooney a Golden Globe for his lead performance. To read more about the film and view a trailer click here



TICKETS AND INTERVAL FOOD

Our film nights are held in Sheet Village Hall from 7.00pm onwards. A cashless bar serves drinks before the film and during the interval. Food, for delivery from the Queen's Head at the interval, can be pre-purchased online from our menu which includes a variety of pizzas (including vegan options), calamari with fries, BLT ciabatta or mozzarella ciabatta with fries.

Please reserve your Patron and Patron Guest tickets in advance. Member tickets (£4) and Non-Member tickets (£6.50) should be purchased in advance using the link below. Tickets can also be purchased on the door but subject to availability.

QUIZ NIGHT AT THE QUEENS HEAD

On Sunday 19th April, the Film Club will be holding its annual Charity Quiz Night in the Queens Head, from 6pm for a 6.30pm start.

Proceeds from the event will be divided between The Rosemary Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

MEMBERSHIP

New memberships for the 2025/26 season are now closed, anyone is very welcome to come to our Film Nights as non-members until new season memberships open later in 2026.

2025 - 26 SEASON RATES

Patrons

  1. Pay £45 and enjoy free admission to all ten film screenings from September to the end of June plus two free guest tickets to use during the season.
  2. Reserve all your Patron, free guest tickets and purchase additional guest tickets online.

 

Ordinary Members

  1. Pay £15 a pay a reduced £4 ticket price for each screening
  2. Purchase your member ticket and any additional £6.50 non-member tickets online.

 

Non-Members

  1. Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the door (subject to availability) at £6.50

 

Payments

  1. Can be made online using debit/credit card, by Paypal and by bank transfer.
