"LUNANA : A YAK IN THE CLASSROOM "
The season continues on Thursday 15th May with "Lunana - A Yak in the Classroom", a 2019 Bhutanese drama film directed by Pawo Choyning Dorji in his directorial debut.
A young teacher, Ugyen, dreams of moving to Australia, where he wants to make a living playing his guitar and singing. Instead, he finds himself posted to the remote village of Lunana, high up in the Himalayan glaciers.
Leaving behind his modern life in Bhutan’s capital, he is initially perplexed by the customs of the isolated yak herding community he is sent to join. The enthusiasm of his young students and the warmth of the villagers soon work their magic and he finds himself captivated by the simplicity of life he discovers there.
The film had its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival and was a nominee for Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.

TICKETS AND INTERVAL FOOD
Our film nights are held in Sheet Village Hall from 7.00pm onwards. A cashless bar serves drinks before the film and during the interval. Food, for delivery from the Queen's Head at the interval, can be pre-purchased online from our menu which includes a variety of pizzas (including vegan options), calamari with fries, BLT ciabatta or warm goats cheese ciabatta with fries.
Please Reserve your Patron and Patron Guest tickets in advance. Member tickets (£4) and Non-Member tickets (£6.50) should be purchased in advance using the link below. Tickets can also be purchased on the door but subject to availability.

Film Club Membership
As we are now more than half way through our current season, we would like to suggest you delay the start of your annual membership until next season. Watch out for more details when these are published here in July 2025.
In the meantime, you are very welcome to attend all our films as a non-member, tickets are priced at £6.50 each.

Patrons
- Pay £45 and enjoy free admission to all ten film screenings from September to the end of June plus two free guest tickets to use during the season.
- Reserve all your Patron, free guest tickets and purchase additional guest tickets online.
Ordinary Members
- Pay £15 a pay a reduced £4 ticket price for each screening
- Purchase your member ticket and any additional £6.50 non-member tickets online.
Non-Members
- Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the door (subject to availability) at £6.50
