Canoe Iford Weir play and practice Sat 3rd Oct
Saturday 3rd October at Iford and Iford Weir.
Play, practice, and a paddle downriver. Main purpose is to get some practice on moving water - although it won't be moving a huge amount as the river is still low, and there is not a big tide to help, but still worth a little blast on the river ????.
Meet Iford weir at 09.00. That should give us time to play on the low water around and through the bridge before heading upstream with the tide, to the weir. We will probably paddle downstream to Wick later. Off the water by 3.00pm latest, so bring drinks, snacks, lunch, and any safety kit you would like to play with or practice playing with. Helmets needed when playing under bridge or weir please.
This should be a great intro and gradual re-intro to moving water, and tuning up your skills for other river trips this autumn and winter.
You'll need your own kit and transport, or shared transport, or there is usually an option to hire a Club Canoe from LP (check with Paul S) but you will need to be able to transport it to Iford and return.
Suitable for Explore level, and above, solo canoe paddlers. Also for tandem crews if that's what you usually paddle. Any queries about the trip or your ability to join the group, please get in touch.
