Hi. Every month, 2nd week, a Tuesday (or occasionally a Friday) Canoe paddling trip, plus a monthly 4th Sunday longer trip. ( This month its on Sunday 26th April 2026 - see separate WebCollect page)
Canoe Leaders needed ....PLEASE!
Tues 14th April: Canoe trip, probably local. Specific venue and activity to be decided based on weather, river levels, group requests.
Could be Harbour, or Iford Weir, or River Stour tootle. Sign up, and if you've got any preferences, let me know.
Meet approx 09.00, to be off the water by mid afternoon latest. Club boats will probably be available, but book via Paul Sutton.
Open to solo paddlers or tandem if preferred. These sessions are not intended for complete novices to canoeing - that's better done in the summer months, so you will need to be proficient to paddle minimum of 4-5 miles, able to cope with F.3 winds, and ideally able to cope with moving water Grade 1, or Grade 1(2) (ie Grade 1 with short section of straightforward G.2) If in doubt about your suitability/skill level, get in touch. You must be competent at rescuing another canoe, and being rescued yourself. Own transport (or arrange a lift) for you and a boat.
