Depending on the number of crews entering, some races may be combined.
Important launching and route information
● Launch and recover boats from Millpool Slipway at the far end of Millpool Car Park, West Looe.
● Please be aware of the sharp bend as you turn off the main road into the car park.
● Looe Rowing Club members will help launch and recover boats and park trailers.
● Please do not take your boat through the main town.
● Boats should be launched from Millpool Slipway and rowed down river to the beach.
● Boats must be rowed back to Millpool Slipway after racing.
Rowing down to the beach
Coxes and crews
● Please ensure you have a cox and at least four rowers to row your boat down the river to the beach.
● The row down takes approximately 10 minutes.
● Coxes should keep to the river channel and use the second bridge archway from the left (east) as you head
down towards the beach.
● Follow the river up and around Banjo Pier, where club members will meet you.

● Please be vigilant for other river users.
Race day facilities and practical details
Facilities
● Refreshments, Race Headquarters and First Aid are located at the beach end of Banjo Pier.
● Do not forget to visit the BBQ, bar and delicious cake stall.
● Millpool Car Park is a long-stay Cornwall Council car park next to the slipway, outside the boat park area.
● The car park is approximately a 10-minute walk over the bridge to East Looe and the beach.
● Radio channel: 72, unless otherwise advised.
● Beach marshalls will advise which part of the beach to use
● Please be vigilant regarding swimmers and others using the bay
● No dogs are allowed on Looe Beach. Dogs are allowed on the seafront promenade and the beach
at the east end of the walkway.

Weather and sea conditions
● If weather and sea conditions are unfavourable, clubs will be notified by email by 7:00pm on Friday evening.
● Please also keep an eye on the Looe Rowing Club Facebook page for updates on the day in case conditions
change.
