For Registering Full Crews Both From RTRC & Other Clubs In ANY Discipline, Gig, Seine Boats Or Coastals

The race starts out at sea off Ness Beach and is a distance of approximately 11 nautical miles, 20.5km, taking the course around the 3 Islands off Torquay – The Orestone, Thatcher Rock and Lead Stone.
The event is open to ANY Gig, Seine Boat Or Coastal from both RTRC or other clubs or non member crews.
Crews can include a spare rower to allow rotation between rowers and coxes ma also be rotated to a rowing position. Crews can be Mens, Womens or Mixed. Unfortuntale thei event is not open to Juniors (Under 18).
Costs:
- Crews consitisting of RTRC Members - £5 per person including cox
- Non RTRC crews or visiting clubs - £10 per person including cox.
The fees are payable at the time of booking however the crew may be amended before the event if required.
If your crew is mixed between RTRC members and non members then please register as a MEMBERS CREW and pay the balance on or before the event.
Event Details
The event is a handicapped event and start times have been worked out according to data colelcted from the previous events to make it as competitive as possible.
Start times:
07:40 coxes’ briefing at our oar store on Quay Road
08:20 start for Seine Boats
08:50single sculls
09:00 start gigs
09:05 start double sculls
09:15 start coastal quads
Prize giving following race
Boats should be ready to leave the beach 15 mins before their start time.
Deadline for registering is 15th July.
Prizes will be awarded for:
First Boat Home
For gig, seine and coastal:
First All Male Crew home
First All Womens Crew home
First Mixed Crew home (50% rowers Male/Female)
If you do have a trophy from the 2023 event, please can you ensure that they are engraved and returned to Teign Diving Centre before the event.
Registration:
Please select the vessel type and number of rowers & cox in the boat as well as their membership status. The basket includes more details relating to the rowers, vessel and contact details.
