Pool Session
Practise your paddling and rescue techniques from the safety of the pool.
Be ready for the pool at 6:30pm. Session runs until 7:45pm.
Pool sessions are the ideal setting for paddlers to improve their 'wet work' skills as clear warm water
allows extended time and improves confidence by seeing the underwater surroundings.
Coaches and leaders will facilitate the following:
• Controlled calm capsizes
• Rescues in deep water using: help to get back into kayaks; bow or paddle presentations; self-
rescues
• Braces and sculling for support
• Rolling practice working towards independent rolls
If you need to borrow a club kayak and paddle to use in the pool, you must contact Ken Reagan well in advance so he can organise this for you
If you are bringing your own kayak, please make sure it is thoroughly clean inside and out
