Paddle Discover Beginners Course 3 (June/July 2026)
We invite anyone interested in completing a beginners course in paddle sport to attend our Paddle Discover Beginners Course, which gives you the opportunity to try out paddling with Scarborough Canoe Club at the North Yorkshire Water Park (Wykeham Lakes).
You will learn more about the club and have the opportunity to develop paddling skills in a variety of different Kayaks and Canoes. The course runs between 6 and 8pm over three consecutive Wednesdays. (24th June, 1st and 8th July). The course will include 5 hours of coaching/instruction/practical learning with the final hour of the last evening encompassing an assessment session.
The cost of the course includes coaching over 3 evening with a brief assessment at the end of session 3. It also includes membership of SDCC for the 2026/27 season and the Paddle UK certification fee.
PLEASE NOTE
The course requires a minimum of 4 participants to run. Alternative dates may be offered if minimum numbers are not achieved.
All participants must be able to swim 25M and be confident in open water. Participants must be aged 12 and above. Youth paddlers between the age of 12 and 16 MUST have a parent or guardian on site during the session.
