Paddle Explore Course (August/September 2026)
We invite anyone interested in completing the Paddle Explore course to attend. This course is the next step in your progression within paddlesport, particularly if you have already completed the Discover Award or have previous equivalent experience along with a current club membership. Most of the course will be held at the North Yorkshire Water Park (Wykeham Lakes) with a final paddle trip to be arranged by the participants.
The Explore Award is the next step on your paddling journey. You will cover a number of rescue techniques in assorted paddle-craft. You will then work on developing a plan for a short trip.

The course runs between 6 and 8pm over three consecutive Wednesdays. (19th and 26th August, and 2nd September). The course will include 6 hours of coaching, instruction and practical learning with a final paddle trip encompassing an assessment session.
The cost of the course includes coaching over 3 evenings with a brief assessment as part of the final Paddle trip. It also incudes the Paddle UK certification fee. Club membership is not included as part of this course and must be purchased prior to booking if not already held.
PLEASE NOTE
The course requires a minimum of 4 participants to run. Alternative dates may be offered if minimum numbers are not achieved.
All participants must be able to swim 25M and be confident in open water. Participants must be aged 12 and above. Youth paddlers between the age of 12 and 16 MUST have a parent or guardian on site during the session.
