First Aid Course
The one-day RYA First Aid course covers all the usual subjects but from a boating perspective and is suitable for anyone who goes afloat. It fulfils the requirements for professional skippers working within 60 miles of a safe haven, including boatmasters, and is also recognised as a senior first aid certificate for offshore racers subject to ISAF special regulations.
The course fee includes the book and the RYA certificate.

The syllabus is based on the recommendations of the HSE and MCA.
The subjects specific to boating included below:
-the recovery position in a confined space
-CPR, including the drowning protocol
-cold shock and hypothermia from immersion and/or exposure
-seasickness and dehydration
-medical assistance advice by VHF
-helicopter rescue
