Sailability Scotland TT Challenger Class Regatta 2018
Solway Yacht Club, Sailability and the Challenger Class are delighted to invite all Challenger sailors to a two day open event in Kippford in the picturesque south-west of Scotland. The sailing area is in the River Urr, where it spreads out and debouches into the Solway Firth. It's sea sailing but in a sheltered estuary where you can experience decent winds and tides but without the wild conditions further out into the Irish Sea. There is a broad slipway and a range of pontoons making launching and recovery easy. The boat park is large and accessible. The comfortable clubhouse is just behind the boat park and the Community Council kindly makes available the adjacent, wheelchair-friendly village hall for the event. The hall will be the venue for a friendly social on the Saturday evening. Club members enjoy having the Challengers and our cadets turn out in force to act as shore crew to assist where needed.
