NOTICE OF RACE
VENUE: Racing to be held at sea or on the Tyne Estuary, depending upon conditions. Access to the water from Priors Haven, Tynemouth, on the north bank of the Estuary adjacent to Tynemouth Castle. Changing and refreshment facilities available in the Clubhouse. Camping is permitted in the Port of Tyne ‘Blockyard’ approx 100m from the clubhouse. Sunday morning breakfast served at TSC
PROGRAMME: 6 races programmed over the two days. First race on Saturday Start at 2.00 pm. 2nd & 3rdraces to follow (back to back). Sunday’s racing to start at 11.00am. 2 further races to follow (back to back).
CLASSES: Separate Class starts for Enterprise & Handicap Classes. Entries for the Handicap fleet are restricted to boats with a Portsmouth Yardstick of 1200 or less.
TIDES: High Water at 15.24hrs on Saturday July 22nd and 16.16hrs on Sunday 23rd July
RACING RULES: All races to be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020. The (30%) Exoneration Penalty and Arbitration of the RYA Rules Disputes Procedures will be available to competitors. See official Notice Board for details.
BRIEFING: There will be a briefing in the clubhouse at 1.00 pm on Saturday 22nd July.
COURSES: Racing on Triangular (or W/L – Triangle) courses at sea or alternatively Harbour Courses in adverse conditions.
SCORING: If 4 or more races are sailed, one result may be discarded. Scoring as per Appendix A low point.
ENTRY FEE:
- Enterprises & 2 handed Handicap: £35.00 per boat ;
- Single handed H’cap : £30.00 per boat.
If advance entry received before 23:59 on Tuesday 18th July a Reduced Entry Fee applies as follows:
- Enterprises & 2 handed H’cap : £25.00
- Single handed H’Cap: £20.00
Enter on line via TSC Website or late entry will be available on arrival in the TSC Clubhouse. Sailing Instructions will be provided on receipt of entry.
INSURANCE: Each boat shall have 3rd Party insurance to a sum of not less than £2,000,000.
APRES SAIL: Competitors, their family and friends are encouraged to gather at the clubhouse for a Barbecue after sailing on Saturday evening. The bar will be open and other refreshments will be served.
