Tynemouth Tankard Open / Lakeland and Far North Grand Prix Laser Traveller 25th June 2022   iCal entry for this event

VENUE: Racing to be held at sea or on the Tyne Estuary, depending upon conditions. Launching from Priors Haven, Tynemouth, on the north bank of the Estuary adjacent to Tynemouth Castle. Changing and refreshment facilities available in the Clubhouse.

PROGRAMME: 3 races programmed. First race on Saturday Start at 11.30 am. 2 nd & 3 rd races to follow (back to back).

ELIGIBILITY: The regatta is open to all boats of the UK Laser Association to include Lasers (full rig) / ILCA 7; Laser Radials / ILCA 6 & Laser 4.2’s / ILCA 4. One start to include all 3 classes.

TIDES: High Water at 13.40

RACING RULES: The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024 and the Sailing Instructions (SI’s). In the event of any inconsistencies between this NOR and the SI’s; the SI’s will prevail. The RYA Arbitration procedures and the (30%) Post Race Penalty of the RYA Rules Disputes Procedures will be available to competitors. See the official Notice Board for details.

BRIEFING: There will be a briefing in the clubhouse at 10.30 am on Saturday 25 th June.

SCORING: One race is required to be completed to constitute a series. If all 3 races are sailed, one result may be discarded. Scoring as per Appendix A low point. The scores for the 4.7/ILCA4, radial/ILCA 6 and standard/ILCA 7 fleets will be calculated using standard PY’s. All classes will start simultaneously and race committee reserve the right to finish slower dinghies early and use average lap time to calculate results.

ENTRY: Entry Fee: £15.00 per boat. (to include £1.00 Lakeland Series Levy). Enter on line via TSC Website or late entry will be available on arrival in the TSC Clubhouse. Online entry closes at midnight 22 nd June. Late and on the day entry will be subject to a £5.00 surcharge. Sailing Instructions will be provided on receipt of entry.

INSURANCE: Each boat shall have 3 rd Party insurance to a sum of not less than £2,000,000.

RISK STATEMENT: It must be recognised that sailing is by its nature an unpredictable sport and therefore inherently involves an element of risk. By taking part in the open day, you agree and acknowledge that: (i) You are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sport and you accept responsibility exposing yourself to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the open day; (ii) You will comply at all times with the instructions of the Open Day Co-ordinator particularly with regard to handling of boats, wearing of buoyancy aids and the wearing of suitable clothing for the conditions; (iii) You accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by your own negligence; (iv) You will not participate in the event whilst your ability to skipper or crew a dinghy is impaired by alcohol, drugs or whilst otherwise unfit to participate; (v) The provision of patrol boat cover is limited to such assistance, as can be practically provided in the circumstances.
