AED / Resuscitation Familiarisation Evening - CANCELLED   iCal entry for this event

The aim of the evening is to give as many people as possible hands-on experience of using an Automated External Defibrillator and resuscitation technique so that, should it be needed, you will be better prepared to help.

A paramedic who is a Dive Club member will explain and show what you need to know to use an AED to the best effect. He will have a number of AED’s to show, and explain the important elements that will maximise the outcome if the worst were to happen.

Resuscitation techniques used in conjunction with an AED will be demonstrated on manikins.

This will be followed by practical hands-on session for all participants. Manikins including the latest generation, linked to Apps that will show you if you’re doing it correctly. Both the speed and depth of compressions are monitored.

The evening will be run by British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) qualified instructors from Southsea Sub Aqua Club, they will have multiple manikins available for everyone to have a go.

Facemasks will be provided to everyone to enable safe use of the manikins by all.

This is not a full resuscitation course but should demystify the procedure and hopefully encourage everyone to get properly trained in the future

The cost of the course is £15, cash on the evening please, this will include for the price for your mask. Please book on webcollect to reserve your space
