Clubhouse Kayak Key Assessment
Demonstrate the skills, knowledge and experience to paddle independently.
Should be able to paddle to a minimum of 1 star or Discover standard in a kayak and have a knowledge of the Club's rules. The Clubhouse Key Assessment spec is here.
Assessment lasts approximately 45 minutes, and will assess the paddler's ability to control the boat and their ability to rescue themselves and recover all their equipment safely following a capsize.
The cost of the assessment incorporates the previous key deposit (which is refundable when a member leaves the club). The hire of a key for the membership year is a further £10.
