Club Membership Meet and Greet
Thank you for enquiring about membership. We have a lovely community with a unique set up of independent access to this lovely lake and site. To keep things running smoothly and ensure safe enjoyment for everyone we have found it's time well spent meeting and sharing the club rules and expectations prior to membership. This gives you a chance to ask any questions, check the club offers what you are looking for and ensure it's a community you're willing to contribute to.
We are a small club, on private land and share the private body of water with an Angling club and wildlife. As a member you will have unlimited access to the club site and full responsibility for anyone with you. It is a unique set up and with that comes different expectations and responsibilities than using public water and facilities. For this reason, we like to meet all prospective members and show you round before completing the membership application.
Due to the lake being a deep disused gravel pit, with no life guards, and where on occasion, there may not be anyone else around; we ask that as a minimum, the principal adult members are competent in the activities you wish to do at the club.
For example:
Dinghy Sailing or Windsurfing have a minimum of RYA Level 1 or equivalent skill/experience
Stand up Paddle boards, Kayaks and Canoes a minimum of Paddle UK (formerly British Canoeing) Start and Paddle Safer award OR equivalent skills and experience, including ability to self rescue and assist others if safe to do so.
Buoyancy Aids or life jackets must be worn when on the water.
Please note the club does not have any craft or equipment for hire or borrow. All equipment and clothing is supplied by you and must comply to current relevant safety standards.
*Any information we hold for you will only be used for the purposes of membership and sharing information about Weybread Sailing Club. We will not pass on or share your information with any 3rd parties or marketing companies.
