RYA Dinghy Youth Stage 1 - October Half Term 2026  

We are running a 2 day sailing course during October half term catering for those who are new to sailing.

We follow the RYA youth syllabus. Sessions are taught by RYA instructors in a fun and supportive environment, through a mixture of formal and informal practical and theory sessions. Our goal is to get the best out of all our students during their time with us and RYA certification is awarded upon successful completion of the syllabus.

Monday 26th & Tuesday 27th October

Course content 

RYA Youth Stage 1: For those with little or no sailing experience. Content: launching and recovery, sailing across the wind, turning around, steering and basic parts of the boat. 

Welsh Harp Sailing Club operates an adaptive teaching policy so if we feel that you are making rapid progress, we will be able to accelerate your learning with more challenging activities to master.

Course costs

£160 for members

£220 for non-members

We offer a £50 discount on membership subscription if non-members decide to join following completion of the course.

Age

This course is aimed at juniors aged 8-16 years old.
