MID-HANTS DAY ROVER
Location: towns, villages and countryside along the Mid-Hants Railway – suggested start is at Alton station café, with parking onsite- and there is a Waitrose next door for purchase of supplies.
Teams can then proceed “down” the line to (New) Alresford, optionally taking in Chawton, Cheriton, Northington, Ovington, Itchen Stoke and Itchen Abbas.
- Basic Rules:Teams of four
- Maximum of one Gold member in each
- Photos to be taken in July 2026 – on either of the days listed above (Thu 2nd July or Sat 4th July), or go back later in the month
- 11 categories – 10 x PDI and one print
- Each team member must submit at least 1 image in the final 11 submitted for judging
- Other Things:Try and start together at the café listed
- Aim for lunch in Alresford – plenty of choices – or if it is a nice day, perhaps the Bush at Ovington
My Vision:
To encourage the broadest range of subject matter, I have prepared details of where it is possible to find suitable material for each category in the settlements listed above. I may also put out a list of those details, so that you can maximise photography and minimise searching. My categories emphasise multiple small opportunities, rather than large, obvious targets.
