Saturday - Junior Introductory Course (J1)
This Junior Academy course runs on Saturday morning 10am-1pm for those 11-15 year olds that would like to do their BC Paddle Awards (in kayak or canoe ) progressing onto their Explore Paddle Award potentially in both craft. Kayak is paddled with a double ended paddle, whilst canoes are paddled with a single-ended paddle.
The initial course consists of 8 sessions, which are held on the estuary in Seaton. Included in the course fee is the BC Paddle Discover Award Certificate and a Membership of the club, enabling you to carry on coming along on Saturdays until summer sessions end in October.
Payment is by cheque, bank transfer (i.e. you are given a reference and use you on-line bank account to transfer money) or via PayPal (e.g. debit/credit cards).
Youth members can still enrol on the week night courses if they so wish, however we feel that the Junior Courses option would be of more benefit for those that fall within this age bracket.
Any attendee with additional needs must contact the Donna Vincent on 07866 531982 prior to booking on the course to check if the course and our provision is suitable for them as we paddle on complex water and this may not suit everyone.
