Welcome to THE DEAN GARDENS
The Dean Gardens is one of Edinburgh's largest private gardens with extensive woodland and lawn areas bordering the Water of Leith. These gardens contain a network of pathways, ample bench seating and play facilities for young children. Established by far sighted local residents in the early 1870's the Dean Gardens along with our sister Gardens in the Dean Valley have long been considered one of central Edinburgh's treasures containing some outstanding views.

Dogs may be permitted provided owners strictly follow the simple rules of conduct that are supplied along with the key(s). These rules are essential reading for any dog owner / walker. Persistent and / or wilful non-compliance with the 'Rules For Dog Owners' will lead to exclusion from the Gardens.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE GARDENS IS FULL , AND NO NEW MEMBERS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE TIME BEING. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY ON THE WEBSITE.
The 'Waiting List' has reopened and the Dean Gardens is able to consider new applications from households in its catchment area. Applications to be put on the waiting list, should be sent to maureenauld47@outlook.com
Membership
As a result of unprecedented demand for new memberships a 'Catchment Area' was introduced in 2017 that comprises specific streets surrounding the Dean Gardens. Refer to New Members - Browse Subscriptions here and to our website www.deangardens.org for details on Qualifying Streets.
If you meet the 'Catchment Area' criteria then membership is open on payment of a modest Annual Subscription plus an initial Administration Fee. There is a simple, single membership class by household.
For all new members the first annual subscription runs for 12 months from the date of initial payment - and on that same cycle thereafter. Established members, pre July '16, are on an early April renewal date.
Refunds for members who may leave during a subscription year are not normally available.
