Lyme Regis Town Mill visit 10th September
We are opening booking for subscribers first, so please do make your booking before we open it up to everyone else in a week’s time.
Visit
We have arranged a special guided tour of The Town Mill in Lyme Regis for Thursday 10th September at 11am. The tour will last about an hour and there will be the opportunity to buy flour that the millers have ground afterwards. https://www.townmill.org.uk/
Optional Lunch
We have also arranged (for anyone who would like to) to have lunch at The Strawberry Tree, which is a tapas restaurant in the Mill Courtyard, at 12.30.

Booking
The deadline for booking is 2nd September. Places are limited so please book as soon as possible.
The cost for the mill tour will be £16 for those who pay membership subscriptions (and their guest) and £18 for anyone else. This will allow us to make a donation to the Mill charity and to add to our funds for supporting undergraduate vacation projects.
Lunch will be at your own cost. We will ask for your menu choices a few days before.
Background
‘This ancient watermill, set in the artisan quarter of Lyme Regis, was rescued from dereliction by local volunteers, through a ten-year restoration project and is now run as a small charitable trust.
Today, the unique and intriguing story of The Town Mill is recounted by our volunteer millers who mill stoneground wholemeal flour, and keep this special place open for everyone to enjoy.
Nestled around a cobbled courtyard, the restored mill buildings house a working watermill and mill shop, art gallery, as well as a selection of creative, artisan businesses.’
Accessibility
There are various car parks in the town, from which you can walk to the Town Mill. There is no parking close to the Mill. Please note that there are narrow staircases in this ancient building and cobbles. If you have limited mobility, please contact Vicky so we can let them know and they can make arrangements tick for you to visit some areas.
