T20 Blast – Modern Day Batting
In modern-day T20 cricket, it is essential for batters to have a variety of scoring options and the ability to find boundaries in different areas of the ground.
This session will provide an insight into how to expand your scoring options, play positive cricket, and put bowlers under pressure. We will focus on creating a strong and powerful base while maintaining sound technique, enabling you to score in different zones against both pace and spin.
Key Areas of Focus:
Power Base & Balance
* Creating a stable and powerful base.
* Maintaining balance when attacking the ball.
* Generating power through efficient movement and body position.
Expanding Scoring Options
* Accessing different areas of the ground.
* Developing a range of shots against pace and spin.
* Understanding field placements and exploiting gaps.
Boundary-Hitting Skills
* Identifying boundary opportunities.
* Executing attacking shots with confidence and control.
* Learning when and where to take calculated risks.
Positive Intent
* Putting pressure back on the bowlers.
* Maintaining an attacking mindset while making good decisions.
* Understanding match situations and adapting your approach accordingly.
The aim is to help players become dynamic and versatile T20 batters who can score freely, find boundaries consistently, and positively influence the outcome of the game. ????????
These sessions are no longer restricted to just those players in ‘A’ squads as we want to give all our Juniors, boys & girls, the chance to benefit from this specialist coaching if they’d like to do so. What we would ask you to bear in mind is that these sessions are aimed at skills progression and not best suited to those Juniors still very early in their cricketing development journey.
These sessions are for Juniors happy with Hard ball cricket. Please bring your cricket equipment with you and ensure you wear a helmet and, for boys, a box. If you have any questions about these sessions please do reach out to Shaftab Khalid our Director of Cricket.
