Did someone say Christmas?

Yes - it’s that time of year again, and what better way to celebrate than with a festive paddle down the River Ness!

We’ll be meeting at Dochgarroch at 9:00am, aiming to paddle down to the Fisherman’s Car Park (just past the Islands). Once we’ve regrouped, we’ll head off to warm up with a good coffee - and maybe even a mince pie or two.

There are currently 8 kayaking spaces available for those who wish to join us. And of course… Santa hats are essential!

Pre-Requisites: Suitable for anyone spent some time on flat water and ideally have already been on a river. Paddlers must have also used a spraydeck and previously practiced wet exits..

Kit Hire: Kit Hire will be available for £10 per person, and anyone requiring kit must have this arranged + collected prior to the 21st, to allow us to make the most of the daylight!! Hire can include; a boat & paddle, a spray deck, helmet, bouyancy aid, cag and wetsuits (however we only have a small amount of these). It would be ideal to be organised with a list of what you require before arranging to collect the kit.

Due to the time of year, it is likely to be a cold paddle, so please ensure you turn up in suitable kit with plenty of layers to keep yourself warm. You may also wish to bring along a hot drink and snacks, however it is unlikely that we will stop for any extended period of time so a full packed lunch may be a bit excessive.

REMEMBER it is a Club requirement to have two laminated Emergency Info Paddler Tickets for your buoyancy aid pocket and your boat. These can be downloaded from here.

Health

You must advise Coaches / Leaders in advance of the paddle if you have a medical condition, or any injury which might affect your paddling. Please carry with you at all times any rescue medication, such as an inhaler or EpiPen, and let your coach or leader know where it is AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH SESSION. Any information will be treated in confidence.

We look forward to seeing you on the water!!!
