Junior/Youth Long Distance Team Event
Leigh and Lowton are pleased to announce a one-off long distance race for Juniors/Youths as a temporary stop-gap in place of the cancelled Southport 12hr Race. Entries will be limited to 12 teams due to COVID restrictions and will take place in GP14s only, so enter early to avoid disappointment.
Notice of Race and Explanatory Intent documents are attached to this entry form with full event details. Sailing Instructions will be issued nearer to the event.
The format will be an 11 hour race over a course at Leigh & Lowton Sailing Club, with changeovers of team members as needed.
Fees
- Entry is online only, via this page.
- Entry fees for a Team will be £50 to cover prizes and incidentals
- Entry closes midnight on Sunday 20th June 2021, but teams need only be finalised by midnight Thursday 24th June
Schedule
- There will be a briefing for Team Managers outside the clubhouse at 08.20.
- Warning Signal for the race will be at 08.55
- If cancellation is required due to weather or any other unforeseen event, then this will be notified via the llsc.org.uk website and email.
Other Key Information
- The galley will be open for takeaway food and drinks all day from early breakfast through afternoon tea
- Overnight camping will be available and is free of charge with each entry
- Detailed COVID restrictions will be published nearer the time but the event is based upon forecasted lifting of current restrictions on May 17th.
