Windsurf Taster/Refresher Session
Windsurfing Taster/Refresher Sessions are a great way to experience windsurfing or brush up on your skills before taking the sport further with a formal course (RYA Start Windsurfing)
Sessions are run in up to groups of 6 people and 2 hours long, of which approximately 1 hour is spent on the water and around 30 minutes before going afloat on the land simulator.
The minimum age is 12 years (under 16’s need a parent on the course).
Sessions are run in most weather conditions but sometimes we do have to postpone if the weather is not suitable (more often then not it's due to no wind rather than too much).
We will provide each person with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and helmet (optional for adults).
Please bring with you:
- Swim wear for underneath the wet suit
- Footwear that will get wet, such as trainers, or wet suit shoes are available to purchase from the shop
- Hat (sunhat for shade protection or a winter hat for warmth) / gloves
- Towel
- Sun cream and sun glasses are recommended throughout the year
Shower facilities, changing rooms and lockers (require a returnable £1 coin) are available.
Please arrive 5 minutes before the session start time at the water side reception (front of the Clubhouse).
ANPR Monitoring (parking)
The site is now monitored by ANPR cameras but Sailing Club members, students and guests are exempt by following the procedure below...
- Parking is only in the lower car park only, first on your right sign posted 'Sailing Club' and 'Draycote Water Sailing Club'
- Each day of your course or visit you need to register your number plate by using a tablet.
- There will be tablet consoles for you to enter your registration plate in the upstairs foyer by the office, next to the signing-on sheets(lower door) and inside the waterside reception.
- You can register at any point during your visit.
