Dartmoor River Trip 2025
The Dart is a great trip for those who have a bit of whitewater experience. The section is 5km of classic grade 2/3 river starting at Newbridge and finishing at Dart Country Park. For those with good White Water Award / 3 star skills and dependent on water levels and coaching staff available, we may also paddle the Upper Dart, a grade 3(4) section of river with plenty of exciting features along the way. We will be staying in a bunk house near Hay Tor, Dartmoor. The cost includes catering from Saturday am to Sunday lunch, accommodation, transport, equipment etc.
Some spending money is advised to get something to eat on the journey. With features on the Loop section such as Lovers Leap, Washing Machine, Spin Dryer, Triple Falls; and Pandora’s Box and Euthanasia on the Upper Dart, you know you are in for a treat on this well paddled river. Other rivers on Dartmoor may be used to suit abilities and water level and weather conditions.
Trip Date: 14th-16th March 2025
Purpose of Trip: Whitewater Coaching, Recreational, Fitness
Minimum Ability Level: Dart Loop – Good level Intermediate Level 2, Paddle Explore or 2 Star with 10 hours whitewater experience or 3 Star trainee. Upper Dart – Good White Water Award or 3 Star paddler with minimum 30 hours of whitewater experience.
Equipment: Free use of Club boats and your own whitewater equipment. You should have your own whitewater specific helmet, cag and buoyancy aid as a minimum.
Cost: £125 for Jnr & Snr PCC Club Members (£135 for non-PCC members – adults only)
