Intermediate Level 2 Kayak or Canoe Course 2024
The Intermediate Level 2 Kayak or Open Canoe Course gives you ownership: allowing you to choose where you move next in the world of paddlesport. The course helps paddlers develop fundamental paddlesport skills on flat water. The emphasis is on gaining a breadth of experience, creating the desired movement of the boat and developing an understanding of how the paddle, boat and water interact.
The course is completed by taking an assessment in either a kayak or canoe and you can choose which craft you wish to use. Holders of the Intermediate Level 2 / BC Paddle Explore award are able to take part in a wider range of club activities including kayak trips to the River Wye, River Derwent, Lee Valley Whitewater Centre, Introductory Surf Course and the BC Paddlesport Safety & Rescue Course.
The river trip and assessment will be held on either the River Beane at Hertford or the Grand Union Canal at Harefield. The assessment can be booked separately or we can move your booking if you feel that you may need additional practice after the course.
We will have a good selection of coaches to get the best out of you on the course and we see this as a big stepping stone in your paddling.
The Intermediate Level 2 meets or exceeds the requirements of the British Canoeing “Paddle Explore Award”. For more details on the Paddle Explore Award click HERE and then click on the appropriate award to download. We can provide successful paddlers with a British Canoeing electronic “Paddle Explore” Certificate at cost (currently £8).
