Introductory Level 1 Kayak or Canoe Course 2025
The Introductory Level 1 Kayak or Canoe Course or Paddle Discover (or old 1 Star) is the minimum requirement for entry to the Club. This teaches the foundation strokes used in kayaking or canoeing and is a basic introduction to the sport. The course starts at 10:00am and finishes at 4:00pm.
We ask that you arrive in good time to get changed and meet your coaches and fellow participants before the course starts. If you don’t manage to reach the standard required during the course we may be able to offer further coaching to ensure you reach the required level.
The course meets or exceeds the requirements of the British Canoeing Paddle Discover Award. For more details on the Paddle Discover Award click HERE and then click on the appropriate award to download.
