RYA Safety Boat Courses 2024

This two-day course provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers, or canoes & kayaks for racing or training activities. This highly practical course looks at good practice and safe & efficient rescue techniques.

Course Content Includes:

Preparation
boat handling & positioning
dinghy rescue techniques
windsurfer rescue techniques
kayak or canoe rescue techniques
towing of various craft
lee-shore recovery
end-of-day procedures
suitability of safety craft
local factors
effective communication
recovering people from the water

After the course you should be able to provide safety or support cover to a range of craft, particularly sailing or windsurfing.

Minimum requirements:
RYA Powerboat Level 2 minimum
Basic knowledge of sailing/windsurfing activities
Age 16 +

2 Days - 9:30-17:30

Weekends:

4^th – 5^th May

2nd - 3rd November
