Taster Sessions 2026
These 90 minute sessions are an ideal way to try out a new sport, before signing up to a course. Cost is £25 per person and all sessions must be pre-booked and paid for online. Please arrive 10 minutes before the session starts to book in and get changed and allow a similar time afterwards.
For all Taster sessions you will need to bring:
- T shirt or sweat shirt
- Shorts or tracksuit trousers
- Old trainers, sandals or wetsuit boots (no Crocs, wellies or flip-flops)
- Hat / suntan lotion if sunny
- Towel
- Dry clothes to go home in – you will get wet!
We will supply all specialized equipment plus cagoule and buoyancy aid. You will be in a coached group for the whole session.

Kayaking
Kayaking is our most popular sport. During our Taster Sessions our aim is to get people feeling comfortable and in control in a boat. Once we have achieved this then we can have some fun, whether that’s playing boat based games, going for a leisurely paddle or doing some wetter activities, whatever suits the group best.
Stand-Up Paddle boarding (SUP)
Never been stand-up paddle boarding? – Let us show you what its all about. SUP or ‘Stand-Up Paddle boarding’ is great fun and everyone needs to try it at least once. We will start the session learning the basic strokes and hopefully have you standing up and paddling in no time.
Open Canoeing
Try out a session in one of our two-man open canoes. These are paddled sitting or kneeling using a single bladed paddle. Once you have learnt the basics, we’ll take you on a journey to see the reservoir from the water.
Sailing
Get the feel of sailing your own dinghy on this 90 minute taster session. Our instructors will give you the basic skills and help you harness the power of the wind.
