Case study: The Old Parkonians Association

Based in Oxton in Birkenhead on the Wirral Peninsula in the North West of the UK, the Association runs cricket and rugby clubs from its Clubhouse in Holm Lane, based at the HM Curphey Memorial Ground.

Subscriptions

The Association uses WebCollect's membership management system with subscriptions payable on a rolling monthly basis by direct debit, which enables members to spread the cost of subscribing over the year. This also avoids new members having to pay a rather larger amount when they join, which can be an issue for some new members.

Junior Membership

The Association has a large number of Junior members. WebCollect group feature allows parents to easily manage their children's subscriptions and keep their contact details up to date.

Payment

The Association encourages members to pay for their subscriptions online using direct debit. Subscriptions renew automatically each month, effectively removing the annual task of chasing members for their subscription payments. This regular flow of monthly income has helped the Association manage their operational budget more easily.

Comments from the Association

Alan Morris, Communications Manager, said:

Managing our membership subscriptions through WebCollect has been a big improvement, both for the members and the Committee. Members like being able to spread their payments over the year and it is much easier for the Committee to manage members and subscriptions through the online service. We now have completely accurate payment records and contact details for everyone at the Club and can say definitively exactly who is in membership at any point in time! We use the system’s email facility to keep in touch with our members.

We have found that the number of membership subscriptions has increased significantly since we started using WebCollect, with other family members joining to support the Club and to get involved in both the sporting and social side of activities.”
