The Taste of Things   iCal entry for this event

The Taste of Things is a 2023 French historical romantic drama film written and directed by Trần Anh Hùng starring Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel.

Set in 1889, it depicts a romance between Eugenie, an esteemed cook, and Dodin, the fine gourmet chef she has been working for over the last 20 years. Growing fonder of one another, their bond turns into a romance and gives rise to delicious dishes that impress even the world's most illustrious chefs. When Dodin is faced with Eugenie's reluctance to commit to him, he decides to start cooking for her.

The film premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, and was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or where Tran Anh Hung won the Best Director award. The film was chosen as the French entry for Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.
