Pickle Night 18.10.25
Pickle Night is a fun, naval-themed social occasion. Join the crew on HMS Pickle for a night to remember!!
Dress in the style of the occasion if you can. Shipmates should try to arrive in their best stripey T-shirt and hat / scarf (or something similar) if possible. A Captain's uniform would be useful, if you have one???
Historically whilst HMS Victory brought Nelson's body back to England in 1805, in a casket of rum - it was actually HMS Pickle that brought the first news back to England of the great victory following success at the Battle of Trafalgar. So HMS Pickle, as a small and speedy ship, played a very important part in communicating this success.
Sign up for delicious food suitable for the crew of HMS Pickle. There will be a tasty starter with shared dips etc. - followed by a good selection of pies (choice is made during the booking-in process) served with mash, vegetables and gravy (we don't want any scurvy on our ship!!! ) - and then a mouth-watering dessert to finish. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available for the main course. A gluten free option is available if required - please contact Viv, details below.
There's a limit of 40 mariners - so better book in straight away. One price for all - shipmates and cabin boys.
Report for duty / meal from 19.00 with the meal commencing at about 19.30.
Closing date - Sunday 12 October at midnight. A reserve list will be run if needed - contact Viv - Social Secretary <socialsecretary@seafarers-sailing-club.org.uk>
