A chance to keep old traditions alive and celebrate the successful Battle of Trafalgar -----
The Battle of Trafalgar (21 October 1805) was a decisive naval engagement in the Napoleonic Wars, where Admiral Horatio Nelson led the Royal Navy to a major victory over the combined French–Spanish fleet. The battle reshaped European naval power for a century. (Wikipedia)
Sign up for delicious food suitable for those on board HMS Victory. Subject to chenge - but the menu may be as follows -
Starter - Mushroom or pork liver pate with bread
Main - Slow cooked beef casserole with mashed potatoes (or a vegetarian casserole, if requested)
Pudding - Raspberry tart and cream - followed by Cheese and biscuits. - There will also be special toasts with Port.
Individual diets can usually be catered for - please state on the booking form.
HOWEVER - after booking up - PLEASE DO NOT PAY UNTIL AFTER 1st OCTOBER ( this will greatly help our Treasurer with his end-of-year accounts! - many thanks )
The meal will be followed by - "The Immortal Memory" and a toast.
There's a limit of 40 mariners - so better book in straight away. One price for all.
Dress code ---- formal / smart ---- black tie / lounge suit ------- medals may be worn / optional.
Report for duty from 19.00 with the meal commencing at about 19.30.
Members only ----- then guests after Wed. 7 October.
