RYA Youth Stage 3 Course
This course is designed to allow you to sail a small single handed dinghy independently in any direction. It will go into the detail of rigging, launching, using rope and knots effectively, improving your sailing techniques by deepening your knowledge and skills. It will introduce you to racing and the technical aspects of how a sail and how a boat works as well as some of the rules of sailing.
Assumed Knowledge
You will be expected to have the skills and knowledge required of RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 2 at the beginning of the course.
Duration
5 afternoons 17th-21st August between 1:30pm and 4:30pm.
On Completion
On completion of the Stage 3 Course, you will be able to sail in any direction and rig and launch your boat. Your skills and knowledge mean that you can regard yourself as a sailor, not a beginner.
COVID 19
In consultation with the RYA we have come up with an approach that, we believe, allow us to operate safely and within the government and RYA guidelines. There are still restrictions on what we can do, with social distancing on the shore being one of the biggest challenges, and we are strictly limited in group size (which includes the instructors/coaches).
We will appricate support from adult members of the sailors household to help with launching and recovery of their family members' boat as WWSC instructors will be unable to be in proximity to the sailors.
Please read our guidelines carefully before you book or set off to visit WWSC and please keep checking them before making future visits, since they will be periodically updated with the latest information.
You are asked to declare at booking and arrival that no one in your household or bubble has shown any symptoms of COVID 19 in the past 2 weeks. If that situation changes please DO NOT ATTEND and email training@wwsc.org.uk to let us know. |
