Discover/Rediscover Sailing - Tour & Taster FREE 2026
Would you like to learn a new skill, or build your children's confidence on the water? Perhaps you sailed as a child but have been too busy since? Why not consider watersports at your local family friendly sailing club?
At Hollowell Sailing Club we offer sailing, stand-up paddle-boarding and Model Radio Yachting. Hollowell Scullers also operate on the reservoir and can offer separate memberships.
Come along and see what is available. Have an informal tour with one of our committee members, look at our equipment and even try out a short sailing session. We will try to answer any questions you may have about getting on the water as a beginner or more advanced sailor.
We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to a range of activities for enjoyment, health and well-being and building new or greater skills.
Please book one place per person in your group and select the arrival time to suit you. All formal booking times end at 12:30 hrs but you will be welcome to stay on a little longer if you wish. When you make your booking we will ask you some questions including whether you would like to take part in the tour and the mini sailing session.
Once you have booked you will be emailed the Open Day Terms and Conditions document that needs to be completed and bought with you on the day.
Tips for on the water: if you plan to have a sailing session then wear footwear you won't mind getting wet (but not wellington boots), a change of clothing and a towel just in case. We will provide buoyancy aids.
About us
We are a super friendly club, run entirely by volunteers which makes for a great atmosphere.
The club is easy to find, if you are driving from the north you will need to go through the village of Guilsborough and follow the sign for Hollowell, turn left after approx half a mile, you will see the yellow Discover sailing flag.
From Northampton, turn-off at Creaton and after going through Hollowell village, turn right at the top off the hill. Watch out! – The club entrance is on a bend but you will see the yellow Discover Sailing Flag.
Hollowell Sailing Club & grounds does not allow dogs onsite
