Outdoor First Aid - 11-12th January 2020, Chanonry Sailing Club, Fortrose
Inverness Canoe Club is offering a 16 hour outdoor first aid course on 11th-12th January 2020, from 08.45 to 18.00 hrs. The course again will be delivered by Cory Jones who is a paddler, club member, and qualified first aid trainer (www.firstaidtrainingcooperative.co.uk). The course will consist of both indoor and outdoor training and scenarios, as well as assessment.
The aim is, first of all, to provide training to our coaches and leaders (and would-be leaders and coaches) who need this certificate for their qualifications to remain in date. However, we are all safer if we have a qualified first aider in our midst. The (heavily subsidised) cost to all club members is £30. Priority will be given to Coaches, Leaders and trainees, but any member is welcome.
Tea and coffee provided, but please bring a packed lunch with you. It's a full two days so please be prompt.
As the outside scenarios in particular will be focused on situations which might arise while paddling, please bring your paddling kit with you, including a helmet if you have one.
