Coaching Sessions 2024  

The coaching sessions are intended to help improve dinghy sailing skills in a developing environment and, thereby, raise confidence levels. Hopefully, this will lead to more enjoyment and higher levels of participation in club events. Many club members, particularly recent trainees and those who have not sailed for some time avoid helming in club races because they feel too inexperienced or too "rusty". Whether you feel confident or not join in and get the most out of these coaching sessions. Those who participated in the informal coaching sessions run by Terence, Nathan and Vittorio last year found them beneficial and enjoyable.

Each coaching session will have a briefing, a session on the water and a quick debriefing. The schedule will cover a broad range of aspects of sailing. Each session is likely to be aimed at a specific topic; this may change on the day based on the participants and sailing conditions. If you have any specific aspects of sailing you want to improve, please contact Vittorio, our racing secretary (racingsecretary@seafarers-sailing-club.org.uk) in advance or discuss it with him on the day. 

Reservation is not mandatory but it will help us organise the session. There is no limit to the boats joining the sessions and you can attend if you haven't booked, but we would like to encourage you to reserve.

The first Coaching session will take place on Sunday 24 March from 1100 to 1230. The intention is that this first session would be devoted to "blowing the dust away"! It will be run by Vittorio and hopefully our new coaching member, Jenni Parsons.
