How to embed the calendar as a frame within your organisation's website
Members can view your WebCollect event calendar, without leaving your site. If they click on an individual event to view, or book places, the page breaks out into the WebCollect site (as it will no longer fit in the iFrame). Embedding the WebCollect calendar within your organisation's website provides a smooth and seamless experience for your members to browse and book places at your events.
The calendar embed uses an iFrame. Follow the instructions below to obtain the html code to copy into the page of your website where you want to display the calendar. The layout is liquid, so will resize itself to fit the width of the frame on your site. It should work well for a minimum width of 270 pixels. The height by default, is 700 pixels, although down to 450 pixels should work fine.
In the administration panel, go to the section called "Connect WebCollect" and click on the link to "Embed/export calendars". Select the event category you want to embed (select Home if you want to embed the calendar for all events). Copy the html code in the iFrame section and paste it into the webpage on your site where you want to display the calendar.
Can I embed more than just my calendar?
Yes, you can embed all of your WebCollect pages within your organisation's site. Click here for details
How to export the calendar to my club calendar system
In the administration panel, go to the section called "Connect WebCollect" and click on the link to "Embed/export calendars".
- If you want to export all of your events, in the dropdown select "Home"
- If you just want to export some events, select the relevant category from the list
Copy the URL (link) shown next to "iCal export URL". Then follow the instructions in your calendar or email system to set up the export.
Will the export work with my calendar/email system?
We have used iCal for the export, which is compatible with a huge range of calendar/email systems, including Google Calendar and Outlook. Click on this link for a full list.
Will my calendar update automatically?
If you are using Google calendar, it refreshes every few hours, and will pick any new events that you have published. With other calendar and email systems, you should check whether and how often they update.
Can I display the calendar as a frame within my site?
We will be adding this feature soon. Please check the blog section on WebCollect's home page for updates.
Can members export the calendar?
Yes. On your organisation's home page, there is a little orange iCal button to the right of "Upcoming Events". When they click on that button, they can import the calendar into their calendar system.
Premium Feature
We have tried to keep the price of WebCollect as low as possible (we know that many clubs and societies have small budgets). However, this feature is more expensive for us to maintain. So we have had to put an additional charge on this feature. It's not a lot more expensive, and we think that you will find it worth the price! Click here to find out our current charges.
