How can I add images to emails and other text areas on the site?

Insert image into the email itself

The key is that the image must be "hosted somewhere public" on the internet, ie accessible with a normal browser without being logged in anywhere.

Note: If you can get the "https" url for the image that help with keeping the secure lock icon in tact.

  1. Find the image you want to use somewhere on the Internet
  2. Right click on the Image and select "Copy image"
  3. Right-click Paste (Or Ctrl-V) the image into the email or text area editor in WebCollect

Option 2 also works for any other text area on the site, for example your Home page text.

Resizing Image

In Chrome you can resize the image by clicking on it, and dragging the corner handles. (We recommend holding down Shift while dragging to keep the aspect ratio consistent with the original image) Then save the email or text area.

In Firefox (or any browser), to resize the image you can:

  1. Click on the image
  2. Click the "Edit CSS Style" icon looks like two "A"s
  3. on the box tab, type a value into "width" and select "pixels" (or other units as preferred).

Add image as an attachment

Add the image as an attachment, using the "Add attachment" button in the email composer. This is very easy to do, but does not give you any control over how to insert the image into text / layout of the email.
