This question relates to annual subscriptions with a fixed end date. If you change the end date for the subscription product, it will not affect any member's subscriptions that already exist.
For example, you set up a subscription product with an expiry date of 31/08. John Smith buys a subscription on 10/09/13 and receives a subscription expiring on 31/08/14. You then change the expiry date of the subscription product to 30/09. When John Smith renews his subscription (and it doesn't make any difference whether he renews before or after 31/08/14), his subscription will be extended to 31/08/15.
So, if you want to shift your end dates (e.g. because the organisation decides that it would prefer to collect in the money at a different time of year), then you will need to change the end date of the existing subscriptions. Currently, there isn't a feature to make bulk updates to subscription end dates, but this is in our development plan, so check our home page for updates.
