Every Thursday night, we run a job that checks on your subscription data, and reports if there are things that need tidying up. If there are, you will receive a Data Tidy Up email with details. The Validate a Subscription link allows you to check an individual subscription at any time, to make sure your data is all tidy. See the Data Tidy Up email for details of what types of issues are dealt with.
Generally you shouldn't need to validate an individual subscription. However, if you think the filters are not giving you the result you expected, you can use that link just to check that everything is ok.
How to validate a subscription
From the subscriptions list page, click on the link in the Type column to go to the Subscription Detail screen. Click on the link Validate this subscription now link. You will either see a green message: The subscription validated OK without any changes, or a red message with instructions of what needs to be done to tidy up. Examples of issues that may be shown are in the Data Tidy Up email.
Who can validate a subscription
Only Creators have the administrative rights to validate a subscription. So, if you can't see the Validate link, it will be because you don't have creator administrative rights. Contact the person with Creator rights for your organisation, and ask them to give you Creator rights, or run the validation for you.
